How many appointments will I need?
The number of treatments needed varies depending on your condition/why you are coming in for treatment, and this will be discussed during your initial consultation. A collaborative approach and open communication between patient and practitioner are key to assessing progress and ensuring that treatment is effective.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
For your initial appointment, please bring any relevant medical letters or scan reports (such as X-rays, MRIs, or ultrasound scans), as well as a list of any medications you are currently taking.
What should I wear to my appointment?
To properly assess and treat the area of concern, your osteopath may ask you to remove some clothing, typically down to your underwear, with your consent. For your comfort, you’re welcome to bring or change into clothing that allows the area to be easily visible—such as shorts for lower limb issues or a vest for shoulder and neck concerns. Loose, comfortable clothing that provides access to the area being treated is recommended.
If you need to remove jewellery or personal items during your appointment, please ensure you take them with you, as we cannot be held responsible for any lost property.
Do I need a chaperone?
You are always welcome to bring a chaperone, and if you are under 18 years of age then you must have a chaperone with you.
Which health insurers are you registered with?
WPA, Cigna, Vitality, SimplyHealth and Aviva. Please contact your health insurance provider prior to your appointment to ensure that you have met their pre-requisites for reimbursement – you will be provided with an invoice in order for you to claim reimbursement. Unfortunately, AXA patients are not accepted at NW1 Osteopathy.
Is NW1 Osteopathy wheelchair accessible?
Yes, as it is on the ground floor.
What is your cancellation policy?
Whilst we appreciate that sometimes priorities can change, 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations without 24 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee. If you wish to cancel your appointment please email hello@nw1osteo.com to avoid the cancellation fee.
